August 11, 2007 while BaywatchRI was patroling they were hailed by the Harbormaster to assist him in dewatering the "Lebfraumilch"
which was taking on water while moored. Over 2ft of water was in the berthing area, galley and stateroom.
As pumps were deployed
the vessel was towed to Brewers Yacht Yard Cowesett and hoisted out of the water to prevent further damage or the possibly of completely
sinking.
Later it was determine that the water was entering through the cutlass bearing in the stuffing box.
Due to our location we are able to have vessels hoisted out to insure no further damage is incured.
